Meryl (Meryl Gear Solid)

SO. Welcome to the mindfuck.

This will be the post that I will be using to plot out all the details of this Meryl's alternate universe. The idea is that by fleshing out the AU a little, it can be used by more than just me.

The short version? What if Meryl was Snake?

ROLE-SWITCHING FUNTIMES GALORE

Some notes:

Okay, okay, so work with me here. Boss will stay Boss because the Boss is boss, but Paramedic will be Big Boss. Big Boss will take Campbells place and be Snake's uncle.

Meryl, a clone of Paramedic, will become the legendary soldier and take the title of Silver Snake (Get it it's a play on her last name Silverburg do you get it huh huh).

Since Meryl is basically a female solid snake anyway, so her personality doesn't really change much except she's not quite as headstrong. Quick to anger, still, though. She has a beloved cardboard box, too. HERS has pretty pink hearts on it a shark face on it. IT'S DISCREET SHUT UP.

And Nastasha is the daughter of the Boss and Sorrow, except we're just going to fuck the physics and timeframe and not make her an old biddy, but Nastacelot, a dominatrix with a gun and torture fetish. Or something like that. She's switched with Ocelot, who takes her place as the relatively unimportant weapons expert. He... most likely retains his creepy-ass reloading fetish...

Naked Snake replaces Campbell as the Shadow Moses operation commander. Instead of Para!BB having been sterile, she could just seduce Roy and have two daughters who fight over being the legendary soldier. So John's son, David, takes Meryl's old place, becoming the unwanted sidekick nephew who wasn't supposed to be on the mission. .... Of course, since Meryl chooses to get the stealth suit, David, unfortunately, doesn't make it. Or probably does, I don't know. Whatever.

Mei Ling replaces Otacon as the designer of the Metal Gear, and as Meryl's life-buddy. Otacon becomes Meryl's save station, retaining his dorkiness and terrible anime proverbs that don't work that well in real life. AND MERYL AND MEI WOULD HAVE ABUNDANT YURI UNDERTONES. ACTUALLY. I'm not sure if Mei Ling should become the dorky anime nerd or not, if you pick one of them up, choose at your discretion, I don't care.

Naomi and Frank switch places, so Naomi goes from being a dodgy geneticist to a kickass Cyborg Ninja. ... It also kind of means she dies but SHE GETS TO BE AWESOME BEFORE SHE DOES SO IT'S OKAY.

Sniper Wolf would switch places with Liquid, with Liquid becoming Liquid Wolf and the other becoming Sniper Snake. Liquid would become the would-be-Don-Juan helicopter pilot that Meryl has to fight before the torture scene with Nastacelot, after which Mei Ling sneaks in and helps her out. Sniper Snake, then, would be a woman who, most likely, isn't in the habit of covering up her top region. :[ On the other hand, Liquid Wolf would, well, be hungry like the wolf. And wear that skimpy jumpsuit with the zipper down to the thighs. ._. BUT YEAH. ANYWAY. Also, KURDISH accent for Sniper. Yes. I did not know that.


AND THAT'S ALL FOR NOW TIPS, IDEAS, SUGGESTIONS?

Seriously. Or, even better, pick up a character or two from that universe.

BECAUSE I WOULD LOVE TO SEE EITHER
A) Paramedic as Big Boss
B) Liquid as a womanizing (oh come on that's a joke in of itself) helicopter specialist in Sniper Wolf's suit
C) Sniper Wolf being Liquid (SSSSSSSISSSSSSTER)
D) A yaoi fangirl Mei Ling Otacon having sexuality issues with Meryl Snake, or inversely with a crush on Liquid Wolf (he knows how women love to play with his joystick ;D).
E) A Nastacelot, because somehow, some way, Nastasha makes better offspring of The Boss and The Sorrow than Ocelot does. And the dominatrix thing.

Changes/Similarities to Solid Snake and traits carried over from the real Meryl:
First of all, her age. This is mostly just me being lame and picky, but given the detailed and specific nature of MGS's timeline, I'm kind of forced to mutilate it to get things just so.

Anyway, I'd say this Meryl's about 25-27 or so? The Les Enfants Terribles project occurs a little later (1978-1980), but I don't THINK that has too big of an effect on anything. If you want an appearance, I'd estimate it being something like this, though you substitute the clothing for a Shadow Moses sneaking suit.

Also, there was something in her wiki about psychotherapy to prevent attraction to the opposite sex?

... Yeah, I'm keeping that in. |D

She smokes, she can ride a dogsled, and she wears a headband. She also has a blond sibling who's a right bitch, so yeah, almost just like Snake, huh?

New Edit: I didn't realize I was being vague about it, but this Meryl is a clone soldier, as is Sniper Snake. But I'm not getting into the degenerative aging thing since I don't ever plan to get as far as MGS4 with all this stuff. It's just that losing the clone aspect loses a LOT regarding the plot of MGS, and it just gets too confusing.

HOWEVER, this is just going to be the truth as Meryl knows it. Given how MGS plots tend to go, there's no reason to believe she couldn't just be wrong, so if you think we'd be better off with a different methodology, lemme know and we can work around it? <3
